FLR LIENS INQUIRY - HELP MENU

This selection allows the user to access FLR Lien information using either the document number or the debtor name.

FLR LIEN
Federal Lien Registrations are tax liens which were previously filed with
the individual counties and are now filed with the Florida Department of
State, Division of Corporations effective January 1, 1993.

FLR Lien Inquiry Functions Explanations/Examples

As you the user view the FLR Lien inquiry menu you will notice that you have the option to inquire by debtor name or document number. Below is a listing of those options as well as a description of their usage:

FLR Lien Detail By Document Number
This transaction provides detail information on the actual filing of the FLR Lien requested by document number. If the requested document is not found the error message 'INVALID DOCUMENT NUMBER' will be displayed.

Example:
To inquire by UCC/FLR document number,
type the 12 digit document number in the Document Number field,
then press the "Submit" button.

The screen that appears will contain detail information about the filing, including document number, secured party and debtor name and address, file date, expiration date, assessment date (FLR), process through date, etc. (You can also reach this screen by choosing one of the names listed on the FLR lien name list).

FLR Lien Inquiry By Debtor Name
Inquiry by debtor name will provide a list of FLR filings on the database beginning with the name that is closest to the key entered. This list also includes the document number and type of each record. The debtor name inquiry function will provide the user with an alphabetic listing beginning with the name closest to the key entered. On the name list the user will see the debtor name, address, date of birth or corporate federal employee identification number (optional), status (active, lapsed, or terminated), and the type of filing (FLR lien).

To obtain more detailed information about the filing, click on the name you wish view. The FLR detail screen will be displayed. If additional filing history is available, the message 'View Filing History' will appear on the detail screen. If there is no additional filing history, the message 'No Filing History' will appear. Requesting Images Of FLR Liens:



From the FLR Lien detail screen, you may display, or request by fax, images of FLR Liens filed since January 1997. To request an image, first type the 12 digit document number in the "Document Number" field of the 'Document Images' portion of the detail screen (a helpful hint is to use the cut and paste feature). Choose either 'Display Image' or 'Fax Image' in the "Action" field.

Requesting an image by fax
If you request the image by fax, you will then enter the fax number and contact name in the appropriate fields and press "Submit", you will receive a message indicating that your fax request is being processed.
Displaying an image
If you choose 'Display Image' press "Submit"; on the next screen click on the highlighted document number, you can then open or view the image on your screen. Requesting 'Display Image' requires that you have a TIFF viewer associated with your Internet Browser. If you do not have a TIFF viewer, a link on the Web page to download the Wang Imageviewer is avialable at no charge. The newer levels of browsers include a TIFF viewer.
