What is a tiff file?
The Tagged Image File Format is an industry standard file structure which allows many different types of data to be encapsulated into a single file. In this particular case, all of the pages of a particular document are stored within the single file. The data compression method is known as Group 4 Fax Compression.
How do I read a tiff file?
Reading a tiff file requires a program that will handle compressed, multi-page tiff files. Some programs such as QuickTime will open and display the first page but will not allow you to show subsequent pages. Other programs such as MS Paint will not view tiff images.
